Hub oil seal inner, Double lip type
Artwigwa:
Hi all,
I have a 88 series and need to replace inner hub seal N/S and O/S, is Part number RTC3511 a good bet and would it fit as its double lip? :-k or should I fit Part number, RTC3510 that is standard, i think? 8-[

It depends on the year of your motor, the design of the stub axle changed in 1980 hence the change in oil seals.
RTC3510 is up to 1980, for stub axles with a replaceable bearing spacer.
RTC3511 is for 1980 onwards, for stub axles with the integral bearing spacer.

Thanks for the info :D How can you tell if the stub axle has integral bearing spacer

Good question. I've never seen the later type stub axle, I'd guess that the lack of any sort of gap between the bit the inner wheel bearing runs on and the stepped up bit that the hub oil seal runs on.

they cost 99p each from craddocks so buy both, job done!
