fitting a winch

(1/1)

phil c:
i get the impression that it is very hard to fit a winch to the front of a trooper from what iv head but i held up i winch try that was William 127's and with 2 L shaped brackets made and some cutting of the front plastic bumper it would be very easy, so was just wondering if there were any underlying problems that iv over seen or missed

dxmedia:
It's not hard at all, I'd suggest looking somewhere like muddyfrontera.co.uk for loads of pics for winches which have been fitted.

Make sure it's strong though, then bolt that in place with a weld on top. If a winch mount comes off with a winch under load on it, that's enough momentum to rip someones head off their shoulders.

Just remeber m6 isn't up to the job !!

no wories on the strength score- if Phil builds it up how he plans it will still be there after the rest of the trucks crumbled to dust :)

the winch tray is currently off to be galvanised so there no chance thats going to rust and and I'm getting some 8mm thick brackets made up to attach the winch tray to the front of the chaise all i have to do now is find a winch with out a cross bar so it will fit in the space
