Just found this thread while looking for somethnig else in the archives.


Having taken this subject up with a traffic cop at Trowell Services on the M1 he says that the lorry lights are height markers (yeah right)

Also that any lights that are not part of the dip/beam lights (and are above the height for fogs) must only come on with full beam and you would be done for driving without due care (or due consideration) for dazzling someone else coming the other way.

Personally my bumper and roof rack lights are on seperate switches that take their power from the full beam circuit. So on road they will only come on with full beam if their switch is also on (with a visible light on the switch to how they are on)

I suppose an extra switch could be incorporated to allow their use with dip beam off road.
