In which case get the stub axles too, they have an oil seal inside them that runs on the halfshaft, better than what you have now.

Do the stub axles have the same number of splines as the shafts?

Stub axles don't have any splines on them, just a thread on the end for a hub nut.

YES BUT, the half shaft that come in the 24 spline axles have a journal for an oil seal inside the stub axle.  This arrangement work better than the original design but you need to swap the stub axles as well.
