Hub seals!

(1/2) > >>

dan3411:
Hi there can anyone tell me if the inner seal on the rear hub is supposed to sit inside the disc (just above the bearing)

or sit on top?

The logical answer would be inside... but i just can't seem to get the seal in there without damaging it!!!
and if it sits on top the disco doesn't sit far enough back

if anyone could reply as soon as possible this would be great as i am working on her now!

many thanks Dan

Mud-muncher1:
It sit's inside the hub against the bearing, have you got the right size seal? as it should just about fit

dan3411:
Yea i have the right bearing i think

RTC3429G

Don't know what this G thing is about..

Mud-muncher1:
the part number for the seal you need is FRC8222, looking at the size of the seal you've got it looks like it's for the later axle

J.D.:
Try using a hub nut spanner, with a block of wood on top and CAREFULLY tap it in with a hammer if you are sure its the right seal, or heat it up in hot water first then try pushing it in by hand.
