Terrain response on Discovery 3
jnoshea:
Can someone tell me whether ALL Discovery 3 models are fitted with terrain response? Trawling through the photos on Autotrader it seems that most have a dial (which I assume is the terrain selector) just in front of a yellow button (which I assume is the hill decent) on the centre console sitting between two paddle type things (which I have no idea what they are). The occasional one seems to only have one paddle thing and a yellow button with no terrain dial in front of it. I'm thinking about buying a D3 from a car auction but since you don't always get a chance to look inside the car before bidding, how can I be sure it has terrain response? 8-[ It's hardly ever listed in the vehicle descriptions.
Cheers
James
Dr.Ed:
the 5 seat non-air suspension model does not have terrain response.
the two switches are low/hi range (in all) and suspension height (air suspension models only), yellow button is hill descent.
so - seat number is the easiest way to tell, but you're right the presence of terrain response is very rarely in the description!

Yep, as Dr Ed says, the base model (5 seat) is the only one without Terrain Response

Thanks guys, that's good news. I wanted 7 seats anyway :D

Don't forget the less gadgets you have the less to go wrong, if you check out disco3.co.uk you will see plenty of people happy with the base models, if the systems can't communicate they just shut down, I had £14 speed sensor playing up and it shut down all my systems when ever it felt like it.
Apart from that it is a tremendous piece of kit and highly recommended :D
