Think its great that the funding is there for police to deal with some issues of rural crime and things that can cause issues with the infrastructure of rural living....

From what I gather, it isn't just Hants that are doing this. Most Forces 'should' have wildlife/countryside officers. It may be worth having a look on the website for the Force that covers your area, finding out who the contact is and getting in touch with them to find out what they are doing.
As mentioned before, we need to get contacts in all apsects of rural industries and communities to be build up a true picture of what is going on and to try and win back confidence in the Police.
Its going to be an uphill struggle, but its got to be done.
