diff ratio

(1/1)

wick:
iv just replaced a v8 engine & gearbox on ex military 110 with a 200tdi engine & lt77 gearbox. do i need to change the diffs in the axles as the 110 the engine & box came out of seemed to go a lot quicker. or could it be down to some other problem such as exaust ect ? thanks wick.

tack43:
Diff ratios are the same (3.54:1), unless they been changed by a previous owner.

1st gear on a TDi is a bit lower than with a V8 to give the TDi a bit more grunt to get moving.  That plus any tweaking on the original truck could have made the TDi a very nippy drive, I know our TDi is quicker off the mark than Blue is nowadays :-.
