New brakes pads

(1/2) > >>

Kenny:
Put new pads in the front today into Cat. No problem there, but now there is a burning smell from the wheel when I drive. Is this normal while the new pads bed in ?

Damian

hobbit:
Was the pistons hard to push back into the calipers, could be sticking if there was any muck on them

Wanderer:
Not really mate as it'll cause them to glaze over and be worse than if you hadn't done them.
It sounds like you have a more serious problem with a sticking or seized calliper.
You'll risk not stopping and or causing excess heat around the wheel bearing, disk and calliper area.

Ed

Kenny:
I did not have a problem at all pushing the pistons back in when doing the pads.

Damian

Wanderer:
Is the other side working fine?
