Easter Sunday laws !!!
marjan:
Here we are again with religion being shoved down our throats with the Easter Sunday shopping laws closing just about everthing.
Rather ironic that today you can get drunk in a pub, call in the betting shop on the way home and pop into the newsagents for an "Adult" mag but you can't buy a Bible as the book shops are not allowed to open
BTW , my Darwin shark just ate your jesus fish

and all the tesco metros etc are jammed full and sold out, but the big ones with the stuff you actually want are shut.
and what sort of an idea is a 4 day weekend anyway? either have the weekend off and be behind on money for the resst of the week or try and go to work, run out of something and have to pack up early grrr
beast5680:
to be honest it wouldnt hurt if everything was shut on a sunday, i,ve spent a couple of easter holidays in france and there everything is shut even petrol stations and macdonalds dont open although you can get fuel as the fuel stations are automated
Gordo:
It the one day in the year that larger shops must close - is that really a hardship?
Easter Sunday and Christmas Day are the only two proper religious holidays we have in the UK: Should we abolish the Christmas holiday too, because people want to go to Tesco?
Most parts of Europe don't have our 24/7 culture, and shops are closed in the evenings, half-day Saturday, closed all day Sunday. The result? More time to relax and enjoy life instead of rushing around trying to cram in as much as we can.
Bishops Finger:
If I get drunk in a pub on Easter sunday last thing I want do afterwards is buy a bible....
