Vit steering

Ok, i have just put a sammi axle on my vit and i have a slight issue with the steering, there is far too much play in the steering bar and the track rod ends for the mot's liking, i have heard of a Z link steering arm, anyone know if i need this?
Much help is appreciated preferably with a photo or two if you have done similar.
