:D I have a big smile on my face 'cos I've just got one !!!  :D

Wow - I've never owned a V8 before & I'm just finding out what all the fuss is about !! It's totally different to the 3.1 TD I last owned. Obviously the power's incomparable, but it feels a lot different on the road too - altogether tighter. I don't know if the suspension is stiffened on this model to cope better with the power. And the silence of the engine ! Good job it has a tacho 'cos I need to keep checking the engine's still running when I come to a halt  And the V8 roar as you accelerate  :D

So now, a couple of questions   My Grand has Quadra-Drive which locks the centre diff when it's put in Lo - then the handbook states that the 'optional' Vari-Loc axles are automatic - but my question is, how do I know if mine has the Vari-Loc axles or not ? How do I find the spec of my particular Grand ?

My other question - it's fitted with the original Jeep 10 disc changer. Which position do I put the head cleaner in the multi-changer to clean it ?

Boy am I happy that I came back to a Grand Cherokee - especially the V8 - I just love it to bits        :D

bunnykins:
glad you moved to the dark side  :D its a beast alright.............many more smiles from now on then.

Bishops Finger:
Nice one....

dxmedia:
You can either get a build sheet from jeep, or jack up the axle off the floor, spin the wheel, if the other wheel spins in the opposite direction then it's an open diff, if it goes in the same direction you've a vari-lock (worm drive LSD IIRC)

It will also get a lot harder to keep turning the wheel around after a few turns.

Oh, and welcome to the world of proper Jeeps  see you at the petrol station
