Due to a buying a R-reg Freelander, with full service history including the head gasket change :)
It appears to be bog standard, although the actual tyres fitted are not a size that's mentioned in the handbook. 225/55 I think they are from memory, Scorpion jobbies.
First things, some underbody protection and some recovery points. No tow bar on mine, and I think that's the easiest way for the rear recovery point. What about the front, any recommendations?
After that, see what's left in the pot for some AT tyres.

Welcome.
I'm in the same boat - looking to protect my underneath.
Mantec kits comes recommended, but at a price. Not sure about front recovery points though - the towing eye has been suggested as suitable.

I've just got myself a new centre pipe and rear box from the garage where I brought it as they were blowing :( But that does make a nice start for me, and definately incentive to look at the underside protection.
The ground clearance at most sites I've been to looks like it could be an issue, but I'm trying to go for a happy medium between a protected 'light' off roader and using as a car for long journeys, as we've a smaller motor for work type commuting.
For a short while, I'm enjoying it being a shiny :D
