How much? !!!

BazMatthews:
Hiyas,

i've got five dead tyres on good rims, and five good tyres on dead rims (7.50x16)

So i started phoning around for prices on getting them swapped around.
Didn't need tubes or balancing.
Ten tyres off, and five putting back on.
Prices started at the £3 per off, and £3 per on mark, and rose to a tenner a shot !!!!
If i had the tyre bars and a bucket of soap i could do it myself.

Anyhoo, as luck would have it and old mate works in a garage and will do it after work Saturday afternoon for £20.

Am i out of touch?

 Comments? Experiences?

regards

Unfortunately a tenner a throw is about market rate for reseating a tyre these days.

Some places are more expensive still!

cheers

Sadly it sounds about right.

Our local place normally wants a fiver to swap 2 tyres / rims.  As they aren't selling any tyres, they don't make any other money on it.

robbie:
I have just had 2 sets of Colways put onto rims and they cost me £6 per wheel, that is for removing the old tyre, putting the new on and included new valve stems and balancing.....

hobbit:
One in Nottingham does them for a fiver per swap, so it would be £25 for the job, mind you the balancing has changed in the new year with not using lead weights, so not sure on the price now
