transfer front output bearing

(1/2) > >>

combatjohnny:
How easy is it to change the front output bearing on a 230 transfer box can it be done just taking off the front flange.
or do you have to take off the front casing.

stageonesimmo:
You'll need to take the front output casing off as the bearing is pressed in from inside.............

eugene:
when i did mine i used a special 3 prongd puller amazing bit of kit but still need extra person to hold it in place and is much easyer on a ramp

combatjohnny:
GOT TWO DIFFERENT ANSWERS THERE ? I HAVE ALL TYPES OF PULLERS BUT WASN'T SURE IF IT WAS INSERTED FROM OUTSIDE OR INSIDE THE CASING.

Banjo:
Once you remove the oil seal there's a large circlip, remove this and the bearing will come out, it's a bit of a fiddle to get the puller legs to grip. Last time I butched the race which seperates the balls and got a small puller in.
