Hi
I am thinking of buying a 110 double cab. I have a budget of 10 to 12k ( would like to keep it nearer 10k than 12k)
What  should i be looking out for ? i have read about the oil in the injector looms, was this a recall for repair or only fixed if people complained about it ?
The prices of these seem to vary quite a bit, is this due to different specs or are all DC's the same spec.

Hi Wizard,

I think the injector loom is replaced as and when required.

Other things to check, and in no particular order are:

Fuel pressure regulator - can leak diesel, it's a pig to change, but worth doing. It's located towards the back of the engine under the inlet manifold.

Head gasket - does the temp gauge stay steady when it's up to temp?, is the coolant a nice pink colour, check the dipstick for signs/smell of diesel - this can indicate that the 'o' rings on the injectors need changing, cheap to buy the rings, but you need 'the tool' or careful use of a slide hammer to get the injectors out.

HTH's

Yes, they are classed as commercials, so VAT registered companies are forced to at the tax.
