freelander clutch

Hi everyone,my friends (2000) freelander has a proplem with the clutch. It works fine but the clutch pedal has come up higher than the rest of the pedals.it has a few inches of play then engages as normal. I would be very grateful for any suggestions on this,thanks. :cool:
