hi have checked throttle cable and it appears to work ok, ie pulls lever on injector pump as far as it will go, how do you remove the diaphram from the pump i have been told it just lifts out but mine dusnt, i have noticed that although it starts on turn of key it runs poorly for a minute as if a cylinder is out then it seems ok, never did this before, i have some time off next week due to shortage of work and realy appreciate any advice, great time to get all faults sorted, oh regarding timing i had timing belt changed about 18 months ago by a reputable land rover specielist so that should be ok  :-k  Regards Iain

To get the diaphragm out....

Remove the four screws... and in theory the diaphragm will lift out.

However, if it doesn't move, mark it's current position and then turn it through 360 degrees and try again.  They do sometimes need a little bit of persuasion. Don't over do it though....

hrmm....  wouldn't be the first time I'd put one right done by a Land Rover Specialist

Did it do more than 50 when you got it back??

Might be worth fitting a boost gauge to try and see what the turbo is doing (or trying to do).  Also check all the intercooler pipe work, and the intercooler itself for leaks.
