Product recommendation
thermidorthelobster:
I've been using Autoglym products to clean the Jag, as they were recommended by a friend who works for Jaguar Land Rover. I've been pretty impressed so far, and this afternoon I gave the Disco a good clean and wax. But I also tried using their Bumper Care product on the black bits (bumper, window surrounds, side trims, wheel arches, etc). I'm well impressed by how well everything has come up. The stuff comes as a gel you just wipe on with a rag. It gets rid of all the wax polish that overspills from the paintwork, and brings everything up perfectly to its original colour. Very little hard graft on my part and the truck looks great! In the past I've used Back to Black type products that just blacken everything in their path; this gel seems to be the way forward.
I didn't quite get around to polishing the roof (it's a faff with the roof rack in the way) so that's tomorrow's job, plus I'll give the interior a good clean.

I use the Meguiars Trim detailer, Its a milky substance, but tried it on my mates car that had grey trim, got it all black again!!
Good stuff!!
Might try that Gel though...
discowoman:
instead of back to black use smooth peanut butter - and a clean cloth - apply with your fingers, leave for a few minutes and remove - the natural oils really bring the black out.
