Depending on the size of the CB unit you could stick it up in the drivers side map pocket...!!! I have a Team ME4 and it's small enough to fit in there quite nicely...It does bent the plastic trim slightly and you do have to run an external speaker but otherwise it's an easy install.... There is also a live and earth already up there for the electric sunroofs...!!!!!! Well there was on my 300tdi anyway...lol I don't have any pictures of it fitted but could take one if you wanted to see what it all looks like.

My inside winch control switch is mounted on the window switch pannel bewteen the window switches and the handbrake. I know its not a disco, but the interiors are pretty similar.

This was a non latching V series Carling switch with. I cut out a rectanular hole in the plastic pannel, and the switch just pushed fitted in. I wired it direct to the solenoid with piggy back terminals so that the wanderer lead could still be used if needed. From what I can see the switch and wires needs to be able to handle a current of 1.5 amps based on an Albright DC88 contactor. I used the size of the wires on the wander lead as a good indication that mine were plenty big enoguh.

I've had one pay and play which used the winch at least 8 times and the location is rather good, it was comfortable and convieniant to use. It didn't get knocked inadvertanly either.
I do however plan on wiring a latching swtich to activate/deactivate either just the in/out swicth swicth or an electric isolator repacing the manual isolator I currently have next to the battery. This manual Isolator does isolate the winch effetively, but being under the bonnet, it is inconvinient to keep turning on/off.

Cheers for that .

where is your solenoid pack located?

On top of the right hand side front wheel arch.
