Wiper Motor Self Park

(1/1)

thompjas:
Hi,

my Windscreen wipers do not "Self Park", these have never done this since I bought the vehicle 3 yrs ago, the MOT guy gave me a verbal advisory today that they should self park, even though its not a failure.

So questions -

Is it easy to fix ??

What is the cause ??

There is a parking module on the wiper motor that you can replace - its white, easy to spot and replace for not much money - if that doesnt work then one of the tracks inside the motor is damaged/worn out - sometimes repairable with a bit of wire and solder IIRC its under the large silver cover on one sie of the motor...........

Hey
I had the same problem with my wipers and so fitted a new park switch. Very easy job to do and now they work fine.
Just do a search for defender park switch. Part Number 520160 i believe.

Hope this helps
