16" gv wheels on a jimny??????
jamesey:
hi ive got some grand vitara 16" wheels and wondered what size tyres i should put on it without 2 much catching , ive not lifted it but have just orderd a 3" lift from rhino rays , any advice would be great , as the 16" gives me another inch.
jimny gary:
I have some GV rims to go on mine, just cant decide wether to go for 205/16's (30") or 235/65/16 (32") If i stick to 30's I'll be ok, i have a 2" lift and my arches are cut right out. My friend has 30's on his GV rims on a rhino ray lift, looks well but he has a 5:1 Rob Storr rocklobster transfer box to sort the gearing out, I'm going to fit a 4:1 rocklobster to mine in due course.
I think you need some wheel spacers as the tyres will catch on the inner arches with the GV rims.

Its the overall diameter of the tyre not the rim which will dictate what you can get in. As far as tyres go a 3" lift doesn't give anymore room than a 2" lift. The limiting factor is clearance behind (and in front) of the tyre. I have 31" Kuhmo's (actuall size 30.5" new) and extensive mods to plastics, inner arches and body shell - and they still rub under hard braking. 29" is about as big as you can go without stating to trim inner wings and plastics.
ps Jamesey - the lift and bigger tyres will exaggerate wheel wobble problems.
jamesey:
i cant be doing with more wobbling , im just going to get some 15s for my off sett vit wheels , do you know anyone that has got some , either 205 75 15s or 215s ect ??
glaggs:
Sorry no! But I am told Dihatsu Sprot track wheels have the same stud pattern and more off set.
