Mounting a Rear Winch

RRB, So if I was to weld my rock sliders to the chassis would I need an SVA..!....I think this could open up a whole can of worms....Or bobtail it..!...Or weld a tow hook to the rear crossmember...!

I aint gunna bother with the SVA.....only use it once in a blue moon for laning and the odd p&p day anyway.

Correct, wel open to interpretation at least.  When BlackBob stuck that Sierra on his RRC he fell fowl of the authorities because he had welded brakets ontot he outriggers to secure the Siearra body,  That, within the rules, counts as altered.  Any modification of the chassis away form the manufacturer's design counts as altered and the authorities are tightening up.

Discotel:
All seems like another way to hammer the motorist, although I can see that they do not want just any piece of crap welded up and running on the road.

Range Rover Blues:
That's about the size of it, that and we are judged by the lowest common denominator (dumbing down), the assumption is that non of us know what we are doing and need to be told, often by people who really don't know what they are doing and decided to become politicians.
