Dim Dip
(1/1)
zulublue:
Can anyone tell me what voltage comes out of the Dip Dim circuit please. is it reduced and if so down to what?
SimonHarwood:
Nominally: 12V (the same as main beam)
The "dim" is due to the lens, reflector and a shade built around the filament. The "main beam" filament is in a slightly different position relative to the reflector and does not have the shade.
nellyscossy:
the headlamp has two filaments normal headlights and main beam...the dim dip is part of the sidelight circuit that puts a reduced voltage to the headlamp filament when the ignition comes on....mine has got dim dip but its a bit cold to go out and look now
i'll take my multimeter out in the morning

Thanks for the replies, but all sorted now, reason for the question was I thought whoever had wired the spots up had pulled the current from the dim dip, as I was only getting 9v, I have since removed all the wiring and put new in correctly. it turned out to be a bright idea
