well on mine i got rid of the whole cross member and replaced it with 3" box section ? but dnt know how much work it would be on a normal size disco heres a pic ?

Disco Matt:
I wouldn't personally replace the door cards with chequerplate, as it will make the inside of the vehicle noisier and colder. If your door cards are tatty then you should be able to get a set of decent replacements on ebay easily enough, there are loads of Discos being dismantled.

I've had the same debate regarding bumpers. I like the tubular ones Guardian make for Range Rovers but due to the different shape of the back of a Disco they'd look daft IMO. The only one I can find is the Paddock HD example but it's a tad eye-watering in terms of price. I suspect it may be one of those "start saving now and it'll be worth it" items.

just after putting the post up i went out and looked at the rear bumper for abit then i ripped the 2 end caps off and cut it up abit to see if it would look any better i don't think it looks too bad but needs a few bits of box section adding. i will get some pictures some time when im at home and its light out.

can any one recommend a paint that i can paint onto mettle, with just a bit of wire brushing be for?

Cheers,
Nick
