manufacturing sliders for discos

<< < (3/4) > >>

Disco Matt:
Regarding bobtailing, I suspect there would be a market for bobtailed and fully SVA'd Discos. The paperwork seems to be designed to be incomprehensible to most people so if you can make sense of it I suspect it'd make people seriously consider having you do the work instead of doing it themselves.

Disco-andy:
regarding the slider, I have not seen many people selling a weld in replacement sill's with a slider on it. It some thing I would buy.

As for Bob tailing there a place down this way that do a very nice job for you for £1000 that's with out sorting the fule tank ect just the body and rear x menber. He also pumps out a lot of bobtails and insists that he has cheeked and they don't need an sva.

the other thing i would buy off the shelf is any form of role hoop, weather that just being two legs for a fount hoop joined to a hoop inside behind the drivers seats,  or some thing more elaborate.

If you could make a high level bumper much like the comp ones from devon  for a defender, also available to suite a 50mm body lift? i was after one for a while and never found what i was looking for.

Any way just my 2p's worth

boss:
yes, hi rise bumpers to suite body lifts was an idea.

and i hate to brake it to you but if you play with anything structural on a car it needs an sva. overland were trying to convince me that if you use landrover chassis replacements ie defender x-member it wouldnt need one........all in all better to be safe than sorry.

i was also thinking about having stages of conversion such as;

stage 1- bobtail conversion...thats it
stage 2- bobtail conversion with alli tank and underbody protection
stage 3- the above but with roll hoops and winches
stage 4- conversion, winches, cage, protection, tank, weight saving power increase

i would also like to make roll hoops, not nessasaraly out of CDS because that stuff expencive and there isnt as much of a call for comp spec stuff.
i would like to be able to manufacture 1-off parts.....i already have an idea for a winch that you will ALL like!

no idea on price yet it is all just thoughts floating around at the moment......but as there is a great deal of interest i might be pushed into doing this properley!

Crispywombat:
If the company has ceased trading then it's just a matter of registering the compnay with Companies House, that is if you intend to go limited. If you're not bothered about being limited then you can simply "trade as" any name you like aslong as you are not using another company name i.e Land Rover Rock Sliders

boss:
hmmmmm.....on second thoughts i think it would be better to come up with my own thing, i wouldnt want people to say things implying that the company has improved or worsend since it changed hands. got an idea for a name, comeing at it from a slightley different angle aswell. now as for ideas for products could people please pm me with them instead of posting them on here!
