Hi i was jump starting my nieces disco today after fitting a gearbox in it and i was getting a lot of blue smoke and it smelt like unburnt fuel and it sounded like it had a miss fire coming from the tail pipe i dont have any blue smoke when driving or any miss fire i was thinking it might be an injector doing down

JIMBOBLY:
could be knackerd diaphram in the pump letting it over fuel it,or like you say an injector down :-k

atlast:
sounds like my disco ! new brakes, new rad, new bushes, new shocks n springs, now water leak back of head !, and dont get me started on the welding iv got to do  it never ends lol

I keep thinking that....and then thinking if I has scrapped it ages ago I wouldn't have to keep spending the money....but I would just buy a replacement....and that would need loads of money spending on it...so I figure its better stick with the one I know

DiscoDan:
Hi.

Blue smoke would indicate oil being burnt, excess unburnt fuel would give you black smoke.

The slight misfire could be linked to the oil burning, both could be caused by a failed or failing head gasket.

For oil problems also check the engine breather which often gets ignored, but this wouldn't give you a misfire so you may have more than one fault.
