S3 died over a year ago. Engine popped a valve a couple of year before that.
I replaced an old Weber with a new Zenith copy on my 1963 S2A last year just to see if all the t'interweb hype was true. Honestly can't say I noticed a shred of difference. I'm sure someone will tell me it's down to being badly tuned, but I'm still getting 20+mpg and I can still 'cruise' at 60mph comfortably.

running a zenith without a overdrive i was seeing 80mph+. i never worked out the mpg, but it was not good, i doing about the same as a v8.
