Langdale Quest
xmob:
I won't go into the use of green lanes by Moorland Adventure Sport, this isn't the place for me to comment.
However, there is a large "multi-agency" operation taking place in Dalby and Langdale forests. The authorities know that many of the lanes are legal rights of way with vehicular access. Many of these are going to be TRO'd due to the amount of damage caused in recent weeks. Hopefully, only temporarily but I suspect they will be permanent TROs. :'(
In the meantime, the "multi-agency" operation is targetting users of the lanes with other issues. Tickets have been issued for muddy number plates, faulty lights and other petty things. A PACE Section 59 has also been issued to a driver for parking off the legal highway.
I know you shouldn't have to, but it's probably a good idea to stay away from the area for a little while.

Sorry to hear Langdale Quest is closed, I hope that this just temporary.
We have had some great days there both in their rentals and in our own Jeep.
It always seemed well organised with plenty of help for us as newbies...(thanks Xmob & the rest of the lads)... but I never thought of questioning the routes they set. As far as I saw, they were changed regularly whenever there was any chance of real damage done to the tracks. In my opinion it was a perfect set up, well managed and safe for everyone to enjoy.
We had been warned previously of the :police: checking vehicles as they left the site, but they seem to be going over the top right now.... It's a shame they have the power to be so heavy-handed ! They could get more "collars" if they stood by the side of any main road in Britain and started to knock people off for having lights out or minor faults.
