Radiator

(1/1)

benbenukuk:
Hi, I am wanting to remove the radiator on my 1989 rrc but noticed that the gearbox oil and engine oil also go into it, If I take these pipes off will it leak oil? cheers.  Ben

Bowie:
Yep, use domestic radiator bungs from the plumbers merchant to cap them to stop them leaking, AND to stop dirt ingress -your autobox will hate you otherwise!

J.D.:
Yep, do as above and when you refit the rad, try and bleed as much of the air out as poss by hand, not too important on the bpx as it will bleed itself, but you can get an airlock in the engine oil.

Thanks, I know this may sound stupid but how do I bleed it out by hand?  Ben

Range Rover Blues:
I'd suggest you fill the top oil pipe with a tube (carefully) then perhaps crack the union back open when the engine starts up to bleed any air out of it.

Alternatively pull the dizzy out and spin the oil pump with an old screwdriver blade in the oil pump drive (with an electric drill).
