Td5 Smoking on 1st start up

Hi there, just wondering if anyone has any ideas on this, I have looked all over the place & seen threads but no answers, my discovery TD5 smokes a little on start up its fine after its been started once no smoke at all thereafter.  About a month ago I replaced the injector loom, and cleaned all the plugs from oil etc etc, it has been diagnosticated and a new air flow meter was fitted and all faults are now cleared, and its running really well.  My local independant l/r garage are telling me that the engine wiring harness is what is causing the problem, but i can't understand why surely if there were still traces of oil in the loom and this was causing the smoke would it not do it all the while?  I have included a link below to a video of the car smoking, by the time I enter the car and begin to drive it the smoke has cleared.

Hi ive had two or three the same, every one was the turbo passing oil over night, then cleared, hope this helps

thanks Mick, is that a new turbo then or something cheap & servicable? I had wondered b4 about turbo but the car is running so well? (touching wood)

Hi Ady,

I've just posted a couple of comments on your video, before and after reading this thread!

The smoke may clear, but it's still only running on 4 cylinders!

You're only down the road from me, so well worth your while popping in, since your current LR mechanic is clearly misinformed.

You won't need to change your engine loom, and your air flow meter would never have been the cause of the fault!

I've got a dozen or so good, used EU2 injectors on the shelf should you need one, which I suspect you will. I'm confident I can pinpoint the real problem within an hour either way.  ;)

Regards,

Gary.

Ive allways fitted sevice replacment turbos, the ones ive changed also ran fine once the smoke had cleared,
