300tdi roof rattle

When I shut (not even slam) any of the doors on my 97 300tdi Disco there is a lot of rattle from the twin sunroof mechanisms and the roof in general. Viewed from the outside the roof jumps up a lot. No leaks from sunroof so in theory all is OK however I can slide the glass on each one almost 10mm. Is this normal or should I tighten the glass mountings and perhaps investigate further behind the headlining. On bumpy terrain the roof rattles are also driving me mad !
