Q1. EGR and fuel consumption
Range Rover Blues:
Good. IIRC you can "dissable" the EGR if fitted without bolting anything in. My sister's 300 TDi has the EGR removed completely which makes more space but on ours I just fitted a blank.
mobi:
i would love to work out my fuel consumption but my speedo likes to lie, if i sit at 60 my speedo starts to jump to 110mph-130mph
Range Rover Blues:
SOunds like either the spring inside is bust or the cable is about to give up.
Go on, tell me it's electronic
Anyhoo, isn't the odometer working?
mobi:
you got right the second time, its electronic and the odomater cant be right if i'm doing 60 and the speedo is flicking up to 130mph.
Range Rover Blues:
Ah, it suddenly dawned (where't eh little yellow fella with the lightbulb?) the sensor is driven by a cable form the gearbox, if it's reading way faster than you're doing perhaps that needs checking? if it just keeps dropping to zero I'd suspect either the drive gears or the sensor.
