innertubes???

<< < (2/2)

stuntman:
And you can fit them in the 'field' so to speak.

But no, there isn't much you can do to stop them moving around inside though

JIMBOBLY:
what you need mate,is michelin tubes put in with loads of tyre chalk, once youve been on the road a little, the tyre gets a bit of heat in it,sounds stupid i know, but the chalk will grip the tube, and the added advantage with mich tubes is that they more than twice the thickness of normal tubes, ive done this for years, tyre fitter for 7 years,i never had any trouble.

Henry Webster:
Indeed good quality tubes are a good start.  Fitting the tyres with as little lube as possible also helps.  With steel wheels you could also put a number of scores into the rim carefully on each quarter.  Each of these will help and each I've tried.

We use tubes in the racer, but RRB is correct to say that tubeless tyres are not designed for tubes.  They will chafe the tubes which will eventually fail, sooner than you would expect.  My tyres don't last long and come on and off rims regularly, so for us it is less of a problem, but if it is your everyday car and you only change tyres when they are worn out I would be more worried.

Tubeless tyres are very good these days and for most on and off road use entirely adequate.  What we do is somewhat more extreme, hence the tubes.  I don't have tubes in my tow vehicle.
