lights not very good,

<< < (2/3) > >>

woodentop:
mine are like they got yellow  paper on them, just thought it was the norm  :doh:whats the best bulbs you can get

hobbit:
As already said, bad earths could be part of the problem, also the thin wiring on discos will barely power dash light let alone headlights

I gave up in the end and upgraded the wiring and fitted relays, using fused feeds from the battery and the old light feeds as the switcher for the relays, new headlight plugs as well

andyb:
As Hobbit has said......use the switch in the stalk to run a relay and upgrade the wiring to the headlamps via the relay. IIRC on the Discovery 1 the headlamps ran directly from the stalk switch and this is most of the reason for dim headlamps.

HTH

Dave K:
Have a look inside the Headlight.
If there is the remains of a reflector, (to cover the tip of the bulb) remove it with a pair of long-nosed pliers.
You will it makes a difference. :)

stuntman:
Chop the lights out and re-wire with heavier cabling and a switch relay.

Easy to do and should cost £10-15. Then you can get the benefit of better lights and you can put brighter bulbs in (for off road of course)
