Best Paint?
jimbob:
What's the best paint to use on a chassis.
It's mainly gona be used off road. Was going to use Waxoyl but it stays tacky and dont want mud sticking to it.
Garth:
Got to be Hammerite (or smoothrite)
iianorthants:
could try getting hold of some of this http://www.por15.com there is a few uk suppliers and it's what the "shiney nut brigrade" and classic car enthusiasts use, don't chip and flake as easy as hameraite and converts rust rather then just cover like hammerite.
muddyweb:
I use hammerite on mine.. thing is, you need to keep an eye on it and keep it touched up. If you let it get too scratched and scraped, you can get water underneath it (a bit like powder coating)
Range Rover Blues:
I'm pretty disgusted with hammerite, compared to what it used to be the modern stuff is c**p. I use Waxoil (black) or underbody shutz with waxoil, you need a compressor and special gun to put this on though. Don't worry about mud sticking to it, it's no worse than any other painted surface for this and it means it stays flexible so you don't have the same problems with stone chips.
