May be a daft question Rob, but when was the last time you changed the oil filter and oil?

the only reason i thought of that is because petrol models have a sensor on the oil filter

Just had a full service when i bought it (all oils and filters) oil levels are all ok the light only comes on when i go through fords it must be like a warning "I'm a v8 i dont like water" lol

I havent looked on the v8 yet i no the 200 has got it on the filter housing

might be a place to start, it could be something simple like a loose connection and when the pressure of the water hits it it dissconects
