Noisy Exhaust 300 Tdi
Bluestrobe:
Evening,
Decided to fit a decat pipe and straight through centre pipe with usual small silencer at the back to my 300 Tdi after my tail box fell off.
All went well with the fitting but the noise is unbelievable, I've heard quieter tractors and sooner or later I'm going to get pulled for it.
Has anyone else had this problem after this mod? Options now are refit a centre silencer or hope it will quieten once it's sooted up a bit?
Regards,
Steve

My back box is still off and it sounds great .
I'd say suck it and see.
If you get pulled and they say it's too loud they wil give you time to sort it ....

Cheers for the reply Lee, will probably get slated for admitting this but I also have a warrant card :police: and don't really want to fall foul of my colleagues [-X
lee celtic:
Why slated ...
We have a few boys in Blue on here and they are sound as a pound
I'm sure you know that Db levels are measured at certain revs for certain vehicals just find out what your limit is and get it checked :police:
I know that motorcycles are measured at 5000 rpm thats why lots of them have flat spots at this engine speed .. I don't know what it is for a discovery though...

I know, shouldn't pre-judge but experience on other forums has made me wary!
