A rocklobster transfer case gives a lower final drive in 2wd and 4wd high - much like a standard 410 box fitted in a samurai, but in low box you find you have a reduction as much as 80% more than std, in low box i could do 25mph flat out in 5th gear lol. It gives you so much more control to be able to potter about at low speed with high revs if needed. Some people make them out of a 413 and a 410 transfer case, other people buy the gearsets to fit to theyre own transfer case, still others (like i did) buy a ready built box from a supplier such as Rob Storr (www.rs-mfg.co.uk). Gear sets and ready built boxes are available in different ratios such as 4:1, 6:1, and 8:1 (really dependant upon the tyre size fitted to your suzuki). You can only really appreciate a rocklobster box when youve followed a crowd off roading in a rocky area, i followed 3 cars with 'lobster boxes that crawled up a tricky derbyshire lane, i really struggled and had to have a run up at a crest several times, after converting my jimny i crawled up without even struggling, but the two other jimnys behind me really struggled just as i had previously.

He probably realised that if it is a Rocklobster then it was a give away at £40 and he should have charged a lot more!
