mobi:
nice job stu,
i see someone tryed to kill that thread too
wrecker:
here is mine,
only other thing i done since the pic was use a stainles ring from a tax disc holder to tidy it up
boss:
the only thing you have to be carefull about on a side exit is to account for expansion in the metal. the side exit on out TD5 it set about a quarter of an ish further froward than it should be. grayham at overland explained to us that they expand(inthis case backwards) so much you can break the exhaust manifold, weather this is true or not i know not, it makes sense but i haven't had a problem with my side exit and its a pretty tight fit(although there is a massice piece of flexi pipe on there). but anyway you can noticeably see that the exhaust finisher has moved back after its been out for a run...
hope that helps lee
Chris Putt:
What boss said.....
Like he has done use flexi to take into account for expansion, and also 'should' if you secure the tailpipe well into the quarter lessen the vibration I would imagine?
Chris
bilge rat:
i agree have noticed this on mine . got no flexi just fabricated a peice of pipe . and it does move back more than you would think . alan..
