fuel pump tweak
bambamjj:
How did it go?
Range Rover Blues:
Rather than arse about shortening the waste gate actuator rod (which is hard to get to) fit a boost regulator instead, they only cost about £20 and you can adjust them to your heart's content. Even if you don't increase max boost they will illiminate waste gate creep, helping improve pick-up and part throttle (low boost) running.
boss:
yes, sorry all i totally forgot about an update. took about 20 mins and i now know why there are no pics.....it is a really easey job! pretty straightforward and not much can go wrong. i did take photos anyway but let my camera at the garage. strange thing was that it looked like it had alredy been done! the cutout section of the diaphram had a dot punch on the plate above it, it wasnt fully facing the rear of the truck so i turned it a little more. going to flush and CLEAN the cooler next time im over there.
Range Rover Blues;
we have one floating about somewhere, my dad was going to fit it to the TD5 but something stopped him from doing it. are they easey to plumb in?
Range Rover Blues:
Yes mate, 10 minute job. All you have to do is find the 5mm hose from the turbo elbow to the waste gate, remove it and replace with a longer section that has the boost reg in the middle, then secure the reg somewhere that you can reach it easily like the inner wing. Whilst you're at at fit a boost guage to help you set it up, mine is semi-permenant in the cab (no backlight though) sp you can use it as an econo-meter. Adjust in small increments and make sure it's at it's lowest possible setting when you start.
Mine is a powertech, of the 3 I've fitted it was the best made.
boss:
ok cheersi will take a gander and let you know about that. :D
