Morrisons bring Petrol below £1
Steve ray:
Below a quid!
Only a year ago unleaded must;ve only been around 90p/litre .......... and crude's down to around $70 per barrel.
It peaked earlier this year aroudn the $147 mark and the selling price was 120p/litre for unleaded and 134p/litre for DERV. Still think we're getting a good deal?

I saw ULSP on sale at 97.9ppl at a Shell in Peterborough this morning.
Diesel is still over a pound a litre though :|
There's very little profit in road fuels. For every £10 you buy, around £8.50 is tax. The remaining £1.50 is the VAT (yes, we pay tax on a tax), and covers distribution costs, staff costs etc. and only a penny or two is profit.
The oil company's profits don't come from road fuels, but the other products oil can be made in to like plastic, chemicals etc.

You make me feel old! :) When I passed my test it was still priced in gallons.....£1.99 a gallon anyone? I also remember thinking that fuel was expensive when 4* hit £2.10 a gallon.

You and me both, mate  There's nothing like a comment like "Do you remember the old classics like Fat Boy Slim, Right Here, Right Now" to make you feel well past it
