MOT man won't test my 110
V8MoneyPit:
Like Jim, I use a garage that understands Land Rovers. They know about the 'dual purpose' exemption and have never refused the 110.
Priglet:
You're not alone, don't pay extra for the class 7 test as it's not valid for your motor and you can still be prosecuted for driving without MoT.
V8MoneyPit:
Here are the replies from VOSA. See if you can understand them
A dual purpose vehicle for class IV test the Unladen Weight of the Vehicle must not exceed 2,040kg not the Gross weight of the vehicle.
There after it would be tested to standard of the gross weight of the vehicle.
It may have been that some refusal to test has been because the test stations cannot accommodate the vehicle.
Then I asked for the definition of 'dual purpose'.....
A Dual Purpose vehicle is defined as follows:-
Construted or adapted for the carriage fo both passenger(s) and good or burden of any description: and
has an unladen weight not exceeding 2,040kg: and
which either
A. is so constructed or adapted so that the driving power of the engine, is, or by the use of the appropriate controls can be, transmitted to all the wheels of the vehicle: or
B. satisfies the following conditions as to construction:
