MOT man won't test my 110
Landyman:
Took my 110 for MOT today and my usual garage can't test it as its plated weight is 3050kg and he's only licenced for vehicles up to 3000kg.
He used to do my older 110 no problem but this one (it's 1998 300Tdi) is heavier.
Anyone else had this trouble?
Ive got to take it to a class 3 tester instead.
V8MoneyPit:
Land Rover 110's are exempt from this regulation. He should find this when he logs on to the DVLA system.
Landyman:
Ok thanks I'm going back on Monday to get my van done I'll get him to check
Mr Bump:
I had this <edit> from the local MoT person - also tried to tell me it was a class 7 commercial (or 4 can't remember which is which)
Told him the unladen weight was 1900 ish kg and that it was "dual purpose" so not a commercial (even offered to bring previous MoT certificate and V5 in to show him), but he still wouldn't test it..
Took it to a garage a bit further away and they looked it up and then put it on a lift rated at 2000 kgs
The sensible garage got my 50 quid. Vote with your feet.

Hi
I went back today but he can't seem to find anything about an exemption. Can you point me in the direction of a web link or someone I could phone for some clarification on this. Luckily I'm not out of test yet but I only have a couple of weeks to get it sorted.
