Alternator wires?

I might just try that. I have some of that in the shed!

Range Rover Blues:
That's the exitation wire, it starts the genrating process.  When mine went I took the back off the alternotor and found a different nut that was electrically connected to the first, I made up a short 'jumper' lead and fed that oout through the back cover.
