Ah so that's what its for, I've not worked out the exact way to plumb in a snorkel, but veru much along the lines of my inital post.

Hi, there is a very well documented installation for a DIY snorkel listed on the broadlands rhino site (broadlands changes to norfolkrhino) on a vit called vicky.  Also saw the same piece in a 4X4 mag some years ago.

Not wanting to plug the site, but there are several pictured documents showing various DIY mods to vits on the site
