Problem fitting a 2" lift kit

(1/2) > >>

stefan:
Can anyone help with a slight problem I have? I bought a 2" lift kit from Paddocks with the ES9000 shocks, the problem is that the bottom of the front shocks doesn't have enough thread showing to tighten the nut, I have fitted the metal washers and rubber bushes correctly (I think?), at the bottom of the shock it goes, washer, bush, mounting plate, washer, bush, washer, nut, but I'll be damned if I can get enough thread showing to do the blasted nut up!! Any suggestions, advice?

Stefan

Xtremeteam:
try removin the bottom rubbers & sqishing them in the vice to make them slightly thinner

Is she still up on the jack?? Try putting the weight of the motor on. Presuming you've not already tried, soz if I'm stating the obvious. Those shockers are the damndest thing I've ever tried to fight with, take more compressing than the bloomin' spring.

stefan:
It's back on it's wheels at the moment, had to move it back to close the garage! I'll have another go tomorrow and hopefully get it sorted and fit the rears too.

hingmy:
compress the bushes in  g-clamps and put them in the freezer overnight
