stratie:
I just had a brain wave  :D.........well sort of.
I've just pulled this wire off the spotlight relay because in runs to the ignition (my thinking behind this is that if it runs to the ignition it may still be getting power) And hey presto it worked....So i thought i would connect it again just to doubble check. i did, and still no noise? ummmmm now this really has foxed me?

stratie:
I just flicked this switch down, and the buzzing noise came back, filck it up and it stops.
Only thing is i dont know what the switch is for? allso the left hand head light is now working, but very very dim.
Im going to do away with the spots....
A, I dont like them.
B, Im sure they have been wired up wrong.
C, umm errr i dont like them.

I'll see if i can trace the wire's from the switch and see if the run to the relay. I suppose i could disconnect the wire's from the back of said switch and see what happens.
I'll give it ago.

hobbit:
Ok here's one for you, when I upgraded the wiring on my disco headlights, I fitted a realy for each dip and beam on the headlights, I used the original headlight feeds as switching feeds for the relays.

Works great, only thing is when I use the side lights on the machine, (dim dip) the relay for the dipped headlights buzzes like what you describe, ok its a disco and series dont have dim dips, but the cause of the buzzing is the low voltage feed going into the relay

It sounds like one of your units is dragging the feed voltage down that is going into this relay, check the actual voltage going in the switching terminal on the relay, with and with out the chatter

This wont cure it but it will give you some idea what is causing it, maybe a bad earth or overstretched live connections on

have fun :D

stratie:
Cheers kev, i'll give it ago.
Oh one more thing, my horn only works when the engine is running?

hobbit:
probably only connected through the ignition feed circuit, if you can identify the lead that goes through the fuse holder for the horn you can re-locate it onto a direct feed connection
