cv joints ???

(1/3) > >>

trickydicky:
can anybody tell me the simptoms of worn cv joints? i have a rumbling under load or around certain corners you can feel it through the brakes i am sure its not from the back ,or the props thats all new.

V8MoneyPit:
Worn CV's will generally 'click' when you go round corners. This is because the balls run in grooves and the majority of the wear will be in the straight ahead position. Then, when you go round a corner, the balls run up and down the grooves and click as they pass the worn part. Over simplified, but basically what happens.

A rumble is more likely to be a wheel bearing I would think.

trickydicky:
i have tried bearing, diff (spear),prop, breaks. but i thought i would ask somebody before spending anymore.

Range Rover Blues:
If it's coming up throught he brake pedal I's be suspicious of the wheel bearings too.  It costs nothing to check them.

trickydicky:
how do i check them it passed its mot 4 days ago i thought they would have picked that up. they were changed last year do you think going off road may have got water in them and rosted a couple up?
