Td5 steering wheel bosses

Bidding on a steering wheel on ebay, it comes with a td5 station wagon boss kit. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the td5 station wagon and hard tops have different spline sizes for the steering wheel. is this right as some online shops offer only one boss kit for the Td5.

Depends on model for TD5. County CSW and XS models with padded wheel are 36 spline and base models with no centre padding are 48 spline.

Be careful of 48 spline on late model TD5's as the change the back part of the column thickness so that none of the bosses would fit properly without have the rear part of the boss turn out more. This was the case with my 2005 TD5.

I was told that td5 csw bosses are the same aas the older type csw 110.
Ring simmnites as they supply mine and were very helpful.
